Sugarfield Sheep Shearing and Trimming Services
I am available for sheep shearing throughout the year. Please use the form below to submit a request or inquire about these services.
Some preparations for your sheep to consider before and during shearing.
1. Please take your sheep off food and water 12 hours prior to shearing. Doing so will greatly increase the animal’s comfort and ability to breathe when in the shearing positions and reduce its inclination to kick and struggle. Also, an empty sheep is less likely to urinate or defecate on the shearing board, in its wool and in my shoes.
2. Sheep must be dry. Bring your flock into a barn or shelter 12 hours prior to shearing if there is a chance of rain or dew.
3. I will need an outlet or generator close to where we will be shearing. My machine takes about 7amps of power so a standard, grounded 110V household outlet is sufficient.
4. You are responsible for bringing each sheep to the board and clearing its wool.
