services
Sugarfield Farm provides year-round shearing services for sheep, goats, and camelids.
It is important that you and your flock are properly prepared for shearing day. Please adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Animals must be caught up or penned before I arrive.
2. Animals must be dry. If there is a chance of rain, drizzle or mist, bring your livestock into a shelter if you have one available. Soaking wet animals will take days to dry out so check the weather and plan accordingly.
3. Take the flock off food and water 12 hours prior to shearing. This is for the comfort of your stock; they do not enjoy being handled and rolled around with full bellies.
4. I will need access to a regular electrical outlet within 100 feet of the shearing area. Please provide extension cords for further distances.
5. You are responsible for clearing and packing your own fiber.
Once we have scheduled your shearing day, do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have about being properly prepared.
