WORKSHOP: Farm to fiber
A Two-day wool processing workshop at Sugarfield
With Julia Hames
In this two-day workshop, participants will turn Sugarfield’s very own Romney fleece into hand-spun yarn and felt. Workshop participants will have the chance to work with fiber right off the animal and learn processes and techniques in a farm setting. It’s a great workshop for fiber lovers of all kinds - beginner or experienced - knitter, weaver, spinner, felter or even farmer! In any craft, it's important to know the origins of the material you’re working with, and this workshop is the perfect opportunity to form a greater understand of the way wool and other fibers work. It’s hands-on, meditative, and a way to engage with local ecosystems and fiber suppliers.
